That special friend…

Today was slow, but not slow enough, once I got home. We didn’t do much business (it seemed) at DQ, but we did more sales than I thought. Today we had to let Gail, one of our new employees, go. She called in sick twice in a row, later than she was allowed both times. Steve (nor I) are going to put up with that. He had things to do and needs dependable people…me, well, I just have to go by the book because I would probably mess something up if I got creative with procedures.

A website for my friends to hang out on…

Yep. Just as I thought…boring. In church today, I had enough time to read Titus, like Micah had suggested the last week of school to the college class. It is a book that I should have read a long time ago, and it only took 10 minutes to read.

I saw two girls that I have had a crush on for a while there at church, but they are too young for me at the moment (under 18, I don’t know how old they are, but they’re in high school.) I didn’t make any effort though. I usually don’t until there is a reason for me to be talking to them.

Anyway, Beth (my best friend) called today! (more…)

Some disturbing decisions…

Busy, but slow day today…I learned, finally, how to take the ice cream machine apart at work. It has taken 2.5 years for someone to show me. It’s really very simple…but anyway. Gail, a new lady, called in sick today with a headache. Steve, my boss wasn’t too happy about that, and for any informed employee (which she is not, at the moment) it is gorunds for automatic termination. Reason being is that she probably didn’t know she has to call in 4 hours before her shift if she is not going to come. It was no biggie thought, we had enough people to cover it.

I got some disturbing decisions on my car tonight. (more…)

Tired…I’m tired…

Tired…I’m tired. I worked 9.5 hours today with no break. I started at 7, went to work at 8 got off at 5:30 (I had to stay over for Amanda while she went to her grandfather’s funeral). Hmm..she says she likes me, but I can’t do anything about it until March (when she turns 18). I imagine we will be boyfriend/girlfriend, even though we won’t be able to do much of anything. Dah well…it is not important.

Jokes with my brother…

Ok, my brother won’t leave me alone so I can start my journal entry…we keep thinking of jokes, and everything we say leads to another joke.

We got some new stuff today at DQ…2 new shelves and a new push cart…and a new employee. She did well for her first day in 10 years. I also learned how to do the food order on the computer, as well as get to cook for the first time since I have been back. It was a fun, busy, exciting day. I don’t really know what to write about today. I had a dream last night that a tornado hit Hubbard, but (more…)

Pancakes for breakfast…

Hmm…well, we had pancakces this morning. I don’t usually eat breakfast, but I will make an exception for pancakes.

Afterwards…a lecture. But this time, it was a “you said something good” lecture. I mentioned that I have a shot at being manager of DQ and that the last manager (who, at the time, had worked for DQ for 2.5 years) made $30,000 a year. That’s good money for a 19-20 year old kid. So my direction has changed from going to TSTC in the fall, to going to TSTC later. That puts me behind schedule and postponds the broadcast of this journal as well as contact with my friends. DANG!

In general…not a good day.

Ugh…In general, not a good day. We were slow at work today, so we had to send Tom home early. But when I came in this morning, the meeting had been canceled. and everything in the store had been moved around. So I did a little improvising.

Connie (a lady whom we have had problems with her foster kids in the past at DQ) sent her new girls up to DQ to apply for jobs. I didn’t have enough time to take down the “now hiring” sign from the board. It disgusted me that she would even try after what had gone on with the last girl that worked for us. But it doesn’t matter, we aren’t hiring anymore, and we wer only hiring out of school kids, or adults, and we are not hiring from Connie’s foster kid group anymore. They are troubled kids, thus not good for this store which is trying to clean up the employee force. (more…)

So where do I start…

Where do I Start…chruch this morning was boring. The guy speaks too soft, so I decided to read my Bible. I Was reading through Luke, when I turned my page too loudly and got my parents’ attention. So I was told to pay attention. I did, for a little bit. Then, as my mind often does, it wandered around. I took a trip around the room and surveyed all the people, then took a trip back to the 1800s when the church was built. I wondered how it was then when (more…)

Busy Busy Busy!

Busy Busy Busy! All day today we were jumping at DQ. There was a funeral and everybody and their mom came to eat lunch today. Everybody but me, that is. I had to wait 2 hours after my scheduled break time before I could grab a seat to eat one small bowl of chili.
