Superbowl Sunday…woohoo! But first, church. It was different today, a lot of things were.

For one thing, I came out of the bathroom, only to be yelled at by my stepdad to get ready because we are leaving in 30 minutes. But he can clearly see that I am totally ready. So he has to change subjects on me so he doesn’t look stupid for yelling at me with no reason. He plays the “I’m not willing to get out even though I want out” card. HA…if he only knew my plans, but it won’t matter…they will probably just find something else to yell at me about and criticize anything I come up with on my own. Another reason that the think I’m not working toward getting out – I don’t tell them what I am about to do. I don’t tell anybody what I am about to do; that way if my plan fails, no one has to know about it but me. If it works, then even better.

Well, we went to Sunday School today…my mom was teaching a 3-5 yr old class, so we all went to our respective classes. But before we left, I am scolded not to go to the youth. If I did, then my stepdad said he was “squeal” on me…but I don’t know what about, and he won’t tell my mom. Anyway, I never intended on going to the youth. I would be the oldest one there, and the youth minister (who is also named Natalie) would try to get me to teach or something. However, I do find her slightly attractive, but I am going to wait for her to approach me. I don’t think she is pretty enough to waste any time on.

The adult Sunday School class was interesting. We talked about prayer, and its purposes, and today we focused more specifically on intercessory prayer – John 17. A good Sunday School class is what I have been missing since I started ETBU. That is part of the reason for my lack of interest in reading the Bible outside of church…but not the only reason. I just haven’t been able to get anything out of it.

Before, when I Read it, I read straight through. Genesis to II Chronicles is one continuing story. But when I hit Psalms, things don’t follow the same pattern because they are a collection of poems. But I started reading Daniel today in Big Church (and I think that I got in trouble by my parents, although I never made eye contact with them throughout the service). Daniel is pretty interesting.

After church I finished up Star Wars II, and then we watched the Superbowl. It was a shock to me because we never watch any sports at my house. It was an interesting game though. As well as the commercials. My favorite would have to be the one with the Clydesdale Horses and the Zebra referee. I was kinda impartial to both teams, so I picked the Raiders to win, and things looked bleak until the 4th quarter. Then I thought the just might make it with a 13pt trail. But due to interceptions, two of them at 1:48 and 0:02 on the clock, they lost big time. 48-21. Dah well…

So that’s about all for today. I’m feeling pretty good so far. Laterz.

  • Thought: “it’s been about a week…I wonder if Natalie (my ex-girlfriend) is going to write soon?”

I'm Neo, creator of the-spot.net. This journal is a digital form of the paperback journal that I kept each day from December 21, 2002 until March 23, 2003. It details my life experiences during those three months: the transition from college sophomore to adult, interactions with my parents, and general life after leaving the private college on-campus "bubble". These days I'm much better now, and living on my own. I haven't talked to my parents since May 2005 when my brother graduated high school.
