Ok, Church…a little more interesting, but not by much. We got “Pentacostal” today with the laying on of hands to pray for my former English teacher’s husband who has a tumor on his kidney. If the cancer has spread to other parts of his body, he is not a candidate for kidney-transplant. This guy has been through a lot: 2 strokes, open-heart surgery, heart attack, and having to learn to speak all over again. But God has brought him and his wife through it all.

We had cardboard pizza for lunch today…it was some good stuff (Oh, I forgot something that happened at church…)

So I wake up this morning to the sound of rain and a freezing cold room. This means I will need a heavy jacket when I got out – my high school letter jacket.

Off to church we go, and the first person I see is a girl, my age, so I take her to be Natalie Y., the youth minister that goes to Baylor.

“Hi, I’m Natalie, the youth minister here,” she says.
“Hell, I’m Chris. Nice to meet you.”
“You too.” and that is all. So I’m thinking .oO(This girl thinks I’m still in high school…this is interesting.)

We go through church, with this in the back of my mind and then church ends.

“We have youth tonight at 5:00,” she says.
“Ok” I say, because I already knew that, and technically she was just telling me that information. She didn’t actually invite me.

So seeing how I was correct in assuming she thought I was in high school, I turn to my brother who is in high school. There has to be a way to let her know that I am in college without making her feel bad. So he tells her when he goes later tonight.

Things are cleared up now, although she will still kick herself for saying that stuff, just not as hard.

Anyway after church we had pizza and played Uno. I was the first to reach 500 points due to a couple of high hands, so I was the first one out. Dah well…I took the opportunity to take a nap, since I was falling asleep holding the cards. It was a good nap, but it ended all too soon. I could have slept through the night.

But my parents made me get up, so I watched my stepdad play his video game “Age of Kings II: The Conquerors” or something like that. Then I did dishes and cleaned the bathroom. It was my week.

Afterwards, Crocodile Dundee came on, so we watched that, pretty good show. I realized something though. That girl kissed both guys while she was dating the one city guy. She’s a player and I don’t like that. That means that it could happen to me…Ugh…discomforting. Anyway, my head hurts so I am going to bed. Laterz.

  • Song in my head: 1950s or 60s song by Booker T WAshington and the Craniums (or something)
  • Cravings: Bacon
  • Mood: Disturbed/Ready to Jet
  • Thought: “Well that’s about it as far as romantic feelings go with Amy. Time to move on. The problem is…I don’t have a list like I did as a fresman. It was rare to find a girl this year at school I liked enough to take interest in. There were a few I liked to be with, but non I could see myself with. Dah well…”
  • Quote: “G’Day mate. No Worries.” – Mik Dundee – Crocodile Dundee.

I'm Neo, creator of the-spot.net. This journal is a digital form of the paperback journal that I kept each day from December 21, 2002 until March 23, 2003. It details my life experiences during those three months: the transition from college sophomore to adult, interactions with my parents, and general life after leaving the private college on-campus "bubble". These days I'm much better now, and living on my own. I haven't talked to my parents since May 2005 when my brother graduated high school.
