[59 in : 195 out]

Last night, I got to thinking, inspired by my Chilly Chan’Oobi drawing. I developed designs for two new characters: Benji Chan and Julie Chan. Benji Chan, of course, is based on my friend Benji “BDep” Deptula. (Interesting…I was just thinking of all the nicknames Benji has given himself: BDep, Ijneb Alutped, Punix-GT, etc.) and realized I can do a couple variations on the same basic character to create a group of people. Anyway, their facial structure, of at least some features, will resemble the real person. In Chilly Chan’Oobi’s case, it was the general hair style, and the attire. Julie Chan…well, I don’t know who that will resemble, but I do need a girl character.

I think I will have fun these next 195 days creating various characters, starting each person with a certain hairstyle, and building the rest of the body from there.

Well, work today was generally interesting. I cooked, after messing with the schedule. Zadra’s cooking practices disgust me in general. She only worked from 10 to 1 today, so there was no point in her cooking (and me taking the kitchen after, as was on the schedule) so I just put her on the drive thru register.

We hired a guy I know, Justin J. He is friends with Tom, and his brother worked here before I did, but was fired shortly before I started. Justin is a little more mature, when he has to be; and for him coming on to the job with me already being in charge, I shouldn’t have any problems with having him listen and take seriously, the things I would like to see done. We are also probably going to be hiring a black girl that goes to the high school. She is the best of the choices, and that doesn’t say much for the part-time applicants. She is also the best of the choices because around [this country] town, black people don’t have a very good reputation in general.

Steve finally showed me how to do the food cost, and it was just like I thought: Food on hand, minus food from last week, divided into the net sales = percent of cost of goods sold from sales. All he has left to show me is the payroll and to use a schedule I develop, then I will be able to run the store. I already run it for the most part as it is. He is having problems with his other two stores, and will have to spend more time over at them. Lately I have been dealing with the problems on my own and trying not to call him if I can help it. Hopefully he will promote me.

Everwood was unusual tonight. Ephriam went on a date, and I felt his awkwardness. It reminded me of someone, but I’m not sure who. Maybe every girl in general. but for some reason I have been thinking more about Beth lately. I’m not sure why. I suppose I should call her Sunday, however, I’m not sure what I would talk about, other than my new “plan.” I bet I could draw her as a cartoon Jedi…that would be interesting.

Anyway, that’s about all for tonight. It’s pretty close to bedtime. Laterz.

  • Song in my head: Enigma Variations – Matrix Theme
  • Craving: Blizzard
  • Mood: Missing Friends/ Wanna date someone
  • Thought: “You know, in college, all I had to do was go to the lobby to have fun, and usually that ended up going somewhere else. What will I do when I move out? Probably talk online for a little bit each night before bed.”

I'm Neo, creator of the-spot.net. This journal is a digital form of the paperback journal that I kept each day from December 21, 2002 until March 23, 2003. It details my life experiences during those three months: the transition from college sophomore to adult, interactions with my parents, and general life after leaving the private college on-campus "bubble". These days I'm much better now, and living on my own. I haven't talked to my parents since May 2005 when my brother graduated high school.
