In general, my life gets better and worse at the same time.

I am having to take charge of teaching myself things at work. They are not difficult tasks, but Steve is not going to be around this week to teach me.

However, while I was at work today, my mom went through my room, confiscated most of my music, took my stereo and CD player, and my software. My stereo, CD player, software, and the rest of my music, as well as computer hardware went to the garage. The other music, and my Dragon Naturally-Speaking software are being thrown out. And, as normal, a lecture ensued the confiscation.

The high points of the lecture are:

  • Eviction date: Sept 1, 2003
  • Rules: no stereo/cd player hooked up; only Christian music on my cl0ck radio; mandatory viewing of certain televangelists in the morning.
  • One-way discussion of my “failure to perform,” resulting in no place different from when the conversation started, with no hints on certain events that would signify “performance,” even though I inquired about them.

So that was the lecture in a nutshell, with the eviction date left open-ended, so it can be moved forward (as the case has been over the past 52 days). I now have 202 days left until I can get back on my computer and, due to this recent development, listen to my stereo. The down side is that I may not have enough money to afford the deposits required to get my own place.

I have been commissioned to pass out more fliers tomorrow on my morning off. So when I’m done with that, I’ll probably work some more on my website. My mom did take my mini-cassettes, but missed my recorder, and one tape in it. So I will keep that out of sight.

That’s all for tonight. It has become more and more dangerous to write this. Laterz.

  • Song in my head: Blurry – Puddle of Mud
  • Craving: Chicken
  • Mood: Disturbed / Happy
  • Thought: “Well, perhaps I can get back on the Internet this fall after all! Everything should work out as planned, at least from one perspective.”
  • Quote: “Waka waka waka…” – Fozzy Bear

I'm Neo, creator of the-spot.net. This journal is a digital form of the paperback journal that I kept each day from December 21, 2002 until March 23, 2003. It details my life experiences during those three months: the transition from college sophomore to adult, interactions with my parents, and general life after leaving the private college on-campus "bubble". These days I'm much better now, and living on my own. I haven't talked to my parents since May 2005 when my brother graduated high school.
